Dark Chocolate Brownies with Red Kampot Pepper
Best pepper to use: Red Kampot Pepper
Servings: 9 brownies
Total cooking time: 40–45 minutes
Best for: chocolate lovers, dinner parties, gifts, creative baking
Dark chocolate and Red Kampot Pepper are a surprisingly good match. The pepper does not make the brownies spicy. Instead, it adds warmth and depth, making the chocolate taste richer and more complex.
This is a strong recipe for your website because it shows customers that Kampot pepper can be used beyond savory food. A small amount of freshly cracked Red Kampot Pepper gives the brownies a subtle finish that feels special but still familiar.
Ingredients
For the brownies
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon freshly cracked Red Kampot Pepper
½ cup dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
Optional topping
Flaky salt
Tiny crack of Red Kampot Pepper
Powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Prepare the pan
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
2. Melt the butter
Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
You want it melted, but not so hot that it cooks the eggs when mixed.
3. Mix the wet ingredients
In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Add the dry ingredients
Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and freshly cracked Red Kampot Pepper.
Stir until just combined. Do not overmix, or the brownies may become tough.
5. Add chocolate
Fold in the dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate.
This gives the brownies a richer texture and deeper chocolate flavor.
6. Bake
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly fudgy.
A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs, not completely clean.
7. Cool and serve
Let the brownies cool before slicing.
Finish with flaky salt or a very tiny crack of Red Kampot Pepper if desired.
Baking notes
Use dark chocolate: Red Kampot Pepper works best with deeper chocolate flavor.
Do not add too much pepper: The pepper should bring warmth, not obvious spice.
Grind it fresh: Freshly cracked Red Kampot Pepper gives a warmer, more aromatic finish than pre-ground pepper.
Let brownies cool: They taste richer and slice better after cooling.
